Spartanburg is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, between Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA, and less than an hour south of Asheville, NC. Spartanburg is the largest city in Spartanburg County and the second-largest city in the 10-county region known in South Carolina as the Upstate. Spartanburg is known in the region as popular destination for dining, entertainment, shopping and education.
